A Little Birdie Told Me...

Gotta love yard sales! Dh and I go every weekend, only for an hour or so, but we have so much fun and find so many cool things. This past weekend I nabbed this birdcage...it was early, and the stuff was out on the table, but the house was closed up, so I just left the moolah on the table, hope they got it.

So here is the little beauty after I stripped it of its somewhat tacky flowers...

 And with a coat or two of Heirloom White Spray paint...which, btw...dh and ds insist is just white, but you and I know its totally not...lol

 So here we are all prettied up and sitting on my dining room table. I made a wood base for it out of some old cheese box wood I got at a guys house. I stenciled the scripture "I am the Bread of Life, all that come to me shall not hunger", and put some felty-protect-my-table-from-getting-scratched thingys on the bottom

Company T-shirts anyone???

Dh owns a powerwash and pest control business, and dd thought it would be cool to have company t-shirts. She however is the only one that wanted one, so with some help from RAQ from the Circut mb, I made this t-shirt using fabric paint and my cricut and scal software...I think it turned out pretty cool

Tennessee Vacation Album

Made this mini chipboard album for the weekly challenge over at My Sheri Crafts...this weeks theme is "Vacations", and who doesn't love a vacation??? Anyhow, this is for friends (who I hope are not seeing this right now...) who we are travelling with in October to Tennessee...I'm planning on filling the book with pics of the 6 of us enjoying our trip together...and giving it as a Christmas present. I designed the title and all inside words with SCAL and you can find the file here on my blog, in the box.net Just scroll down till you find the folder titled Tennessee Words and Title...feel free to use it...the album I got from My Sheri, and is a Basic Grey 5 1/4" chipboard album. Spring Garden

This is the first in a set of three layouts for my scrapbook this year...Spring , Summer and Autumn Garden...showcasing the many blooms in my garden through out the season. The challenge came from My Sheri Crafts, and the theme was flowers...All the instructions can be found here as well as a supply list for the layout. Wall Art- Bedroom

Made this wall art with Wall Pops for over my bed. In case you are wondering...that is my headboard...its an old window dh found in the garbage...and he painted it and tried to make it look old and distressed. Anyhow...I cut everything out in SCAL, fonts used were Black Jack for the cursive, Freebooter Script for the larger fancy cursive, and Geeves for the tall skinny letters. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out

Mom word Book

Made this mom word book for My Sheri Crafts weekly challenge...which was celebrating Mother's Day. Designed the pages in SCAL, and cut them from Bazzill Cardstock...then covered them with Basic Grey Paper, Gypsy paper. Prayer Changes Things

This card was made for...you guessed it...RAQ's card challenge...pretty simple card, but I love the way it turned out...the letters were cut in scal and the "changes things" are rub ons...inside...which I almost never take a picture of...says "I'm praying for you" Tfl!

ps...after I posted , I noticed in behind the card, you will see two goofs in a picture...lol...that is my dh and dd being silly together, and I didn't realize it was so easy to see in the post...guess I'm not watching the background when taking my pictures...oh well...gotta love em!!!

These are some wedding photos of my parents, as well as the only photo I have of both sets of grandparents. Swirls are HD and HA, mini flowers cut in scal, as is the title. Scalloped ovals are from Storybook

Welcome Carolyn

I have been waiting to get started on this book of my life. Finally got all the family/baby pics from my mom, so I am pleased to show it off. The drawing on the left was done by my aunt and uncle in Holland, where my family originates. I was born in Canada, and they sent this to my parents when I was born 45 years ago...what a treasure to have this. The pics are the only ones of me as a baby. You will see a large set of boys looking on...those are 4 of my brothers, and the 5th one took the picture...after 5 boys, a girl was a welcome surprise. Baby carriage was designed in scal with basic shapes and an "s" for the handle.. When the pages for this book are all done, the computer generated information will be added...but I was anxious to post.

This was another flower card...inspired first by IsabellaWheadon, and then by EdieShaw, who was inspired by my first flower card, then I saw Edie's and was inspired again with the watering can...made the pots and the watering can with scal, yellow flowers are george, sunflower is syi, leaves are storybook, swirls are home decor, and the orange, pink, white and purple flower all cut with scal, font common bullets. Everything was inked and popped up for dimension

Enough Winter!

Made this card for RAQ's challenge this week. We got about 8" of snow last night, and today my dh and I were driving around enjoying the pretty scenery, and I began thinking about all the people on the east coast who have gotten so much snow, and this card idea came to me. Behind the "winter" is a spring scene that can be viewed when you lift the flap up. This was so much fun to make, and reminded me (a summer lover) that winter will soon come to an end. Carts used: Home Accents (snowflakes), SYI (sunflowers, winter, spring, tree, snowman(I think) ), Zooballoo (grass) scal for tiny flowers and other fonts, George (circles on tree) Snow layers were embossed manually with Fiskars shape boss and inked with light blue chalk ink. Cut the 3 circles on the tree at 1" and inked and layered them on top of the tree. This was such a fun card to make.

Nuts About You

Also made for RAQ's challenge...this is a 5x5 card...the challenge was to make a Valentine with an animal on it...tough for me, as I don't usually use animals on my cards, but hey, thats the challenge right? Squirrel is cut from SYI, and the fonts were cut with SCAL..."nuts" is "love letters" and "i'm, about you" is "kosal says hy"...I love SCAL...the font options are endless, as well as welding and using different fonts in one cut...has to be my favorite software!

Iris folding card

Saw this technique on Curt's blog, and he did such a fabulous job on his cards, I was inspired to try it out. Mine did not come out quite as good as his, but this is my first attempt. I did my cut out with scal, and the swirls and birds are from Home Decor (new cart dh bought for my birthday) I cut out a 5x7 black piece with the flower shape cut in the middle,a nd then cut another out of the same paper as the iris folds (which I didn't actually fold, they are just strips of paper) and cut out the shadow blackout of the same shape so as to make it look as though it is all the same sheet. Tim Hortons Mug of Tea Card

Was inspired by someone (forgot who) on the cricut mb...I didn't have a mug on any of my carts. so I made one in George...(gonna try to upload the .cut file for you over to the right) I hope it works. Anyway, I saved the tag from a tea from Tim's ( as we go almost every night and added it. Tfl!!!
