Just Stamping...

Been snooping around the internet lately, looking for inspiration...found some really beautiful all stamped cards...I love my cricut, but wanted to try something a little different...for me anyway. So I made these cards with stamping only...I have a nice selection of stamps, but sometimes enjoy buying them more than using them...so this week I put them to good use...I hope? The big fern leaf is one of the very first stamps I bought...its foam and I think I bought it at J's in the wall stencil section...but it worked wonderfully with my inks...and then I traced around with a black fine tip gel pen. Have to give credit where credit is due...both of these were inspired by a website I found online called ImpressRubberStamps...check them out, they have stunning stamps!

Canada Day Card

Made this card for the weekly challenge over at My Sheri Crafts...totally inspired by a gentleman we met while on vacation in Tennessee several years ago. When he found out we were from Canada, he had to tell us this joke, he thought it was hilarious...so I'm passing it on. Check out the weekly challenge and post your creations at My Sheri...there are so many talented ladies who post there.

Being Sick Stinks!

Made this card for this weeks RAQ Card challenge...I had seen RAQ use this paper pack a number of times, and I wanted it so badly (not at 19.99 though) Yesterday dh took me shopping at HL, and they had all their paper packs 50% off...woo hoo...so I grabbed it. I cut the skunk out and popped him up, the thin strip through the black ovals is actually the edge of the paper and you see in the background...letters are from Zooballoo and arrows from HD...oh...and the inside is stamped "feel better soon"

Thinking of You

Made all three of these card for RAQ's card challenge...boy, I am finding it hard to get all the cards done each week, now that the weather is so nice...but this week we had a lot of rain, so I did get them done. I had to make a sympathy card, so I made 3 thinking of you...which will totally work, seems we always need this type of card. Not much cricut going on here...the first card has a cut from SB...on the third card, the bflys are ms punch...first and second cards were made with GCD Studios Zen Garden paper and the last with a K & Company set I got for Mothers Day

Note Card Set

Made this for a friend from church...she asked for 50 notecards, and 100 stationery...whew...I'm very happy with the end result, and she was too. Found a box at the local dollarstore, that held them all with the envies and even matched in color. I think I cut out 300 roses from WIMG (tops and bottoms)...my poor little cricut was overworked those days.

I posted it in RAQ's card Challenge on the cricut mb...if you are struggling with ideas for cards...check out the link. The ladies there are awesome and so inspiring...they totally have brought me to where I am today with my card making. The sunflower is from SYI, the leaves from SB

Your Dreams are Closer than you think!

This week I am hosting RAQ's card challenge...it has been so much fun making cards, and now I am making sketches too. This card I designed from one of the sketches I posted in the challenge. I had been sitting on the couch in the morning talking to dd as she was getting ready for work, and our cat, Hershey, jumped up in the bay window. I was watching him, stalk the birds, and his tail was swishing back and forth...and then the inspiration came...but, I didn't have a sentiment. By the time I had the card done, dd was at work (full time nanny), so I texted her and told her I needed a cute sentiment...described the card to her and waited. Within about 3 min she texted me back with her idea, and it was perfect. Sentiment was computer generated, windows and branches are from Christmas/Noel, cat is from PDDU...the epoxy prints and cat button I had laying around for a long time, so it was good to use them up. Bird is from WW I think (borrowed a bunch of carts from a friend, and made a whole lot of cuts)

Sunset Card

This was something new for me. Dave & I were driving along the river last night, and the sun was just setting...it was a crisp, clear night, and the sunset was gorgeous...thats the moment of inspiration...started with a light blue card base...used pink and orange inks first, then took a stiff paintbrush (small artist one) and started with my chalks, which I almost never use. Started blending and mixing colors and am so impressed with the result...the shoreline was cut with the deckle edge scissors, the extra large one and popped up. There are some small trees cut from Christmas/Noel, and the birds are from LIAB. The sentiment is a stamp, and then embossed for some oomph (thanks to LarelynSartini on the cricut mb for that tip).
