A new Layout...for my childhood album

Made this layout (total scraplift from a magazine (Scrapbooks & Cards Today, winter 2010, by Paula Gilarde) . The original had journalling where I have the words...so happy with the way this turned out...also added the original so you can see how closely I followed it...I did change up the mountains at the bottom for waves as well.

You Gotta Have Friends...

This weeks theme at My Sheri Crafts...is "Friendship", so I made this 2 page layout of my group of scrapbooking friends out on a shopping excursion for the day. The friends border was designed in SCAL and you can find the file here on my blog in the box.net If you have a friends project you want to share, feel free to post it here

The challenge came from My Sheri Crafts, and the theme was flowers...All the instructions can be found here as well as a supply list for the layout. If you have any flower related projects hop on over to the My Sheri Crafts Blog and post your creations...we would love to see 'em.

From Holland to Canada

These pictures are I think my favorite of all the old pics given to me. They are of my family when they arrived in Windsor, Ontario, from Holland. The journalling tells the story of the trip across the ocean by boat, and then by train from Halifax to Windsor...as remembered by my mom, who is now 88. I can't even imagine leaving your homeland with 5 boys, leaving your family and friends, for a country where you don't speak the language or even have a job...what an accomplishment...I don't think I have even a portion of what it takes to do such a thing...so I have deep admiration for my parents who did. Suitcases are from PDDU, title was made with SB and OA.

Bear Sighting

Everytime we go to the Smokies, I hope to see a bear...unfortunately, this wood carved bear was the only one I saw this trip...

Cades Cove

I think Cades Cove is one of my most favorite drives in the Smokies...this particular day though, the traffice through the 11 mile loop was bumper to bumper. It is a beautiful place though. Scroll border is from HA, font cut with scal.

Cover Page Tennessee

This is the first page in my album. Papers all throughout the book will be K & Company...scalloped border done in scal, fonts as well. The leaves were cut with my quickuts and a small leaf punch I bought at Walmart 5 years ago...then I popped them up. All edges were also inked. Tfl!

Tennessee Vacation

These are pictures of us and our friends we went with to Tennessee, outside our cabin. It was called Home Sweet Home...the frame around the pic of us is from HA cut 5.5"...fits a 4" picture perfectly. Also cut another frame from a lighter paper, and cut it up to make some accent pieces. The title was done with scal, sorry didn't pay attention to the fonts...and the scalloped borders were also done with scal...made and saved some files as I cut them often.

The Pride of Ownership

Did this layout...first in about 3 months...been too addicted doing the card challenges...so I signed up for the January challenge, where you challenge yourself what ever you want to get done...I chose 2 layouts as my mom is coming for 2 weeks in January, so I won't be able to craft while she is here...fonts on this layout are all scal, and so are the arrows. Tfl!

Baby It's Cold Outside

:
An old picture, and a lone one, of my daughter...followed the color wheel on this one.. 3 side by side colors...edged the cardstock with white embossing powder for that cold icy look

Tradition

This is a layout of my son and I...every year, mostly anyway, we go blueberry picking together. I was inspired by my dd actually, who did a picture on her fb of her friends and it mimicked a motivational poster...so I copied her idea for my title. I do still need to do some journalling...

Carolyn's Garden

We did some renovating in our back yard this year, and took some pics. The journalling is done on a paint chip from the hardware store. For the flower, I made a two petal template out of cardstock, and did it old school...trace and cut. I tried to stamp right on a silk flower, but the ink kept bleeding until you couldn't read the words...

Many Faces of the Man I Love

Been waiting for some time to get this one done...another scraplift, but sometimes ya just gotta cheat a little to get the job done.

It Was the Summer of '96

Been steadily working at getting all those old pics scrapped...been at it for a couple years. I have found it to be quite challenging as I wasn't a scrapper then, so my pics are random and not very good quality, but m happy with the overall result. These are some random pics from summer '96...found the layout in a Scrapbooks etc mag.

Seventeen

I got the inspiration for this layout from a copy of the magazine "Seventeen" that my daughter had laying around. These pictures were taken around her seventeenth birthday, and somehow, the magazine type look seemed appropriate. I used an overlay that I made myself, and really tried to copy the look of the cover of a typical magazine.

Beyond the Sea

Took these pictures while on a recent trip to Florida. I got up early, and walked the beach, waiting for the sun to come up and shine on the surf...this is what I got
