Girly Purse Card

This card was so much fun to make...saw it in an old card making magazine and knew a friend who it was perfect for. It was made in Cricut Craft Room by welding two marquee shapes together from Storybook...it is an actual card that opens at the bottom. I also made two slightly smaller single shapes for the white piece on the outside and one on the inside to write on. The scalloped border was made with an edge punch, and then snipped at every "valley" between the scallops (much like when you are sewing on a curve, it is snipped to the seam so it sits flat) and then you manipulate it so it can follow a curve...hope that makes sense. The ribbon flower was made from a pin on Pinterest...instructions are here if you are interested...very simple to make. (its the red one with white polka dots...you have to scroll down a bit to see it)

My Sheri Challenge Week # 2 - Special Fold Cards

This was such a fun card to make. It is called a criss cross and I got the instruction from Splitcoast Stampers...click here to get instructions. It was easy to make and I love the way it turned out...the paper is Basic Grey, Gypsy line, and the cs is Bazzill. The big flower on the front, I cut from one of the papers and popped it up. The band around the card was punched with the Dotted Wave Punch. Sentiments are clear stamps. Flower and swirl are from HD, bfly and card pull are from SB, and greenery are ms branch punch. For complete instructions and supply list click here. There is a misterlinky on myshericrafts challenge if you are inspired to make your own special fold card

Stained Glass Card

This card was for RAQ's card challenge this week, and I am quite excited to share it. Part of the challenge was to try something new, so I tried some stained glass paint on a clear acetate sheet. My dh loves hummingbirds and stained glass, so that is where the inspiration came from. I cut a hole in the front of the card, and made another front the same...with a hole...then did my "stained glass" and when it was dry, I placed it between the two pieces, so to give a suncatcher effect. I only used a sharpie to trace the design which I downloaded from a stained glass pattern site, the imitation solder that came with the paints is not easy to work with for small projects, and it was globbing all over. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. The pink seems a little brighter in the picture than it really is, but other than that, Im pleased to show it off

Tri-Shutter Card 50th Birthday

Made this card for my bff for her 50th. There is a link in an older post how to make the card itself, but I used Storybook for the scalloped circles, and the "50". The "ur my bff" is from Zooballoo, "reasons" is Opposites Attract, and the candles are from Stretch your Imagination. They are with the cake, but since the candles cut first, I would cut them and then cancel the cut, so as to not waste paper cutting cakes I didn't need. I think the "happy birthday" is from SYI as well. I heat embossed the flames on the candles in yellow, and yes, there are 50 of them. If you untie the ribbon on the far right, there are 50 reasons (computer generated) why she is my bff. These are such fun cards to make. A tip I saw on the Cricut MB, was to make a DS or SCAL file for all the background pieces on the base of the card, so you won't have to measure them out each time you make one...if I figure out how to share the scal file (which is what I used and remember what size the over card is I will share it under .cut files for you to use.

Birthday Card

This card was inspired by CutTheScrap...which btw...I love that username, anyway...she posted her card, and I loved it, so I made one myself...papers are all K & Company, edges inked. I free handed the swirlies and the petals of the flower with a silver gel pen, and the candles are a burgundy gel pen...I don't like to free hand usually, but I took the plunge, and it turned out ok.

Ad Challenge/RAQ Challenge card

This was such a fun card to make. Colors from the ad challenge were light pink, light yellow and lime green...and the sketch was posted under RAQ's card challenge. The swirls are from Storybook (two corners, plus one other cut that I trimmed and cut in half to make it work) and also from Home Accents. The title was cut with Santa's Sleigh Full, which I used SCAL to cut it...that is one of my favorite fonts to use.

Today's Cards

Here are the cards I worked on today after I came home from church...I can't stop...I'm having such a blast making them...the sketches are so helpful with the design...all I have to do is put the papers together.
