Nuts About You
Also made for RAQ's challenge...this is a 5x5 card...the challenge was to make a Valentine with an animal on it...tough for me, as I don't usually use animals on my cards, but hey, thats the challenge right? Squirrel is cut from SYI, and the fonts were cut with SCAL..."nuts" is "love letters" and "i'm, about you" is "kosal says hy"...I love SCAL...the font options are endless, as well as welding and using different fonts in one cut...has to be my favorite software!

Valentines Candy Boxes
Made these boxes for my family for Valentines, and going to fill them with their favorite candies and leave them out for them to find in the morning :D I don't have TBBM or the Expression, so these were easily made from tutorials I found on SplitCoastStampers website...very very easy to make and they turned out soooo cute. I will give you the links for the tutorials if you want to make them yourself.

Just a Note
Made this card for RAQ's challenge last week. The black window frame is popped up to give dimension and make it look like you are inside looking out. The monkey and the vines are from Zooballoo as is the letters. The scalloped circle is from Storybook. I used a fern patterned paper in behind to easily portray the look of a jungle. It is not my typical type of card, but it was a lot of fun to use cute images.

Iris folding card
Saw this technique on Curt's blog, and he did such a fabulous job on his cards, I was inspired to try it out. Mine did not come out quite as good as his, but this is my first attempt. If you want to check out his blog, go to http://craftincurt.blogspot.com/ and see his wonderful cards. I did my cut out with scal, and the swirls and birds are from Home Decor (new cart dh bought for my birthday) I cut out a 5x7 black piece with the flower shape cut in the middle,a nd then cut another out of the same paper as the iris folds (which I didn't actually fold, they are just strips of paper) and cut out the shadow blackout of the same shape so as to make it look as though it is all the same sheet. Here is the link for directions on iris folding http://www.origami-resource-center.com/iris-folding.html

My Own Card Sketches
This was a real challenge for me. I wanted to try my hand at designing my own card sketches, but was having technical difficulty with Photo Elements...finally, after two weeks, I figured it out...they were so much fun to design, I am hoping to make one myself today...hahaha..made all the sketches, just haven't made the cards to match. I am looking for feedback...let me know if you like them...and if you use one I would love to see your finished product...I am signing up with Mister Linky as I type (waiting for confirmation code email) so hopefully you can post it here, if not, leave me a link in your comment so I can check it out. Feel free to share it. Tfl

Wall Art
Made this quote for a wall facing our main entrance. The swirls are made from HA, most of the letters are Stamped, with the bold and cursive being OA...most of letters are 2" with the bolder ones at 3"...dh measured and taped it all off for me, so we could get it even. I also made a mock up before cutting the Wall Pops...as I changed it a few times to get the look I wanted. If you are interested in ordering a custom wall quote, please contact me at scrappingcat@yahoo.ca with "wall art" in the subject line. I make these to order, will ship anywhere in North America, payments made via paypal.

Cover Page Tennessee
Tennessee Vacation
These are pictures of us and our friends we went with to Tennessee, outside our cabin. It was called Home Sweet Home...the frame around the pic of us is from HA cut 5.5"...fits a 4" picture perfectly. Also cut another frame from a lighter paper, and cut it up to make some accent pieces. The title was done with scal, sorry didn't pay attention to the fonts...and the scalloped borders were also done with scal...made and saved some files as I cut them often.

I Love You
A Valentines card for my dh...done for RAQ's challenge...the red swirls are from Storybook, choose shift, tall border and 2 and voila...I think I cut it at 4 1/2 or 5", can't remember...but then I put it on an angle (as per the sketch) and snipped off the excess. The silver is foil paper from the dollar store that I embossed with my fiskars shape boss...you just have to draw lines on the back to get your shapes even... th "I" and "you" are from OA (opposite feature) and the "love" is from BB...just some simple lines around the edges to give it some more oomph. Tfl!!!

Welcome Baby!
Made this card for my dd to give to her friend who is having a baby boy...the design was scraplifted from Lynette Neus on the Cricut mb...I really liked the clean simple look it had...the embossing was done with a fiskars shapeboss (yes, it takes time to complete) and all the cuts were made from Zooballoo. The challenge was to use your least used cartridge...and this was mine. I do use the tree a lot from Zooballoo, but thats it.

The Pride of Ownership
Did this layout...first in about 3 months...been too addicted doing the card challenges...so I signed up for the January challenge, where you challenge yourself what ever you want to get done...I chose 2 layouts as my mom is coming for 2 weeks in January, so I won't be able to craft while she is here...fonts on this layout are all scal, and so are the arrows. Tfl!
Tri-Shutter Card 50th Birthday
Made this card for my bff for her 50th. There is a link in an older post how to make the card itself, but I used Storybook for the scalloped circles, and the "50". The "ur my bff" is from Zooballoo, "reasons" is Opposites Attract, and the candles are from Stretch your Imagination. They are with the cake, but since the candles cut first, I would cut them and then cancel the cut, so as to not waste paper cutting cakes I didn't need. I think the "happy birthday" is from SYI as well. I heat embossed the flames on the candles in yellow, and yes, there are 50 of them. If you untie the ribbon on the far right, there are 50 reasons (computer generated) why she is my bff. These are such fun cards to make. A tip I saw on the Cricut MB, was to make a DS or SCAL file for all the background pieces on the base of the card, so you won't have to measure them out each time you make one...if I figure out how to share the scal file (which is what I used and remember what size the over card is I will share it under .cut files for you to use.

You Inspire Me
Birthday Card
This card was inspired by CutTheScrap...which btw...I love that username, anyway...she posted her card, and I loved it, so I made one myself...papers are all K & Company, edges inked. I free handed the swirlies and the petals of the flower with a silver gel pen, and the candles are a burgundy gel pen...I don't like to free hand usually, but I took the plunge, and it turned out ok.

Some new cards this week...all for RAQ's card challenge...some for last weeks challenge, and some for this weeks. The first card has a foundation cut from Storybook, and border is an EK Success punch.
Second card...bird is from HD, third card, flower is cut from HD as well ( I think), next card has no c or cb, but I did machine stitch a borde around the stamped images...last card has cuts from Storybook...papers from all cards are from K & Company (except for the card with the bird). Tfl!!!
