Your Dreams are Closer than you think!

This week I am hosting RAQ's card challenge...it has been so much fun making cards, and now I am making sketches too. This card I designed from one of the sketches I posted in the challenge. I had been sitting on the couch in the morning talking to dd as she was getting ready for work, and our cat, Hershey, jumped up in the bay window. I was watching him, stalk the birds, and his tail was swishing back and forth...and then the inspiration came...but, I didn't have a sentiment. By the time I had the card done, dd was at work (full time nanny), so I texted her and told her I needed a cute sentiment...described the card to her and waited. Within about 3 min she texted me back with her idea, and it was perfect. Sentiment was computer generated, windows and branches are from Christmas/Noel, cat is from PDDU...the epoxy prints and cat button I had laying around for a long time, so it was good to use them up. Bird is from WW I think (borrowed a bunch of carts from a friend, and made a whole lot of cuts)

Sunset Card

This was something new for me. Dave & I were driving along the river last night, and the sun was just setting...it was a crisp, clear night, and the sunset was gorgeous...thats the moment of inspiration...started with a light blue card base...used pink and orange inks first, then took a stiff paintbrush (small artist one) and started with my chalks, which I almost never use. Started blending and mixing colors and am so impressed with the result...the shoreline was cut with the deckle edge scissors, the extra large one and popped up. There are some small trees cut from Christmas/Noel, and the birds are from LIAB. The sentiment is a stamp, and then embossed for some oomph (thanks to LarelynSartini on the cricut mb for that tip).

Birthday Card...totally girly

Made this card for my son to give to his gf for her bday...It was so much fun to make...all pink and girly. The cake stand was done in scal with 2 "J" 's back to back...the scalloped border too was done in scal. The 18, scalloped rectangle with sentiment, and the butterflies are from SB, the candles are from SYI, icing at top of cake is ms punch, and the inside sentiment was computer generated. Cake on inside is from WC. I hope she likes it.

Stained Glass Card

This card was for RAQ's card challenge this week, and I am quite excited to share it. Part of the challenge was to try something new, so I tried some stained glass paint on a clear acetate sheet. My dh loves hummingbirds and stained glass, so that is where the inspiration came from. I cut a hole in the front of the card, and made another front the same...with a hole...then did my "stained glass" and when it was dry, I placed it between the two pieces, so to give a suncatcher effect. I only used a sharpie to trace the design which I downloaded from a stained glass pattern site, the imitation solder that came with the paints is not easy to work with for small projects, and it was globbing all over. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. The pink seems a little brighter in the picture than it really is, but other than that, Im pleased to show it off

Thy Word...

This has to be one of my favorite cards that I've made...maybe because I thought of the overall content myself, instead of borrowing ideas from other cards. The lighthouse, wave, and seagull are from LIAB, trees from WW, house from C/N, and the sentiment is computer generated. The rocky shoreline was hand cut and inked for depth, and the little bushes are ms punch

Camping layout

This is a heritage layout...pics of me as a toddler, camping with my family. I wasn't sure that the cricut cuts worked with the heritage pics, but I think Im happy with it, now that its done. The chair and pail/shovel are from Life's A Beach, castle is from PDDU..."family" cut is from HA and the title fonts are Alphalicious and Opposites Attract.

Easter Card

Made this Easter card...not completely happy with it...feel like I'm in a creative slump at the moment...ugh...hate when that happens...went to work on some cards today , and....nothing was coming to me...so I decided not to frustrate myself, and moved on to something else. Anyway...the sentiment is computer generated, the "eggs" are tags from George and the bunny is from WW. Thanks for looking
